During its nearly 1 year of use in the exploration area, the engineering crawler truck has completed the relocation and transportation of equipment and apparatus for more than ten holes with complicated terrain. The use of the truck has shown that the truck has stable performance, strong driving and transport capacity, easy operation and maintenance, and good adaptability to weather and road conditions, which has enriched the means of relocation and transport, better met the needs of mountain drilling construction and improved relocation efficiency.

Deficiencies in the use of engineering crawler trucks

(1) Although the technical department of the engineering crawler truck manufacturer has carried out overturning calibration and climbing capacity calibration, the truck is loaded and transported with more than 3t of drilling rigs, and the crawler plate wears out faster during transportation, which requires frequent inspection and replacement.

(2) Although the problem of fixing the loaded and transported equipment was considered in the design, it was not solved very well. To secure the rig in place in practice, the engineering caterpillar was temporarily welded with rope hooks on the inside of the carriage, which affected the flatness of the carriage floor.

(3) Restricted by the structure of the carriage floor, the vehicle chassis inspection and maintenance is not very convenient.

(4) No lifting device, loading and unloading efficiency is low, affecting construction efficiency.
